Palau’s Black Pearl is 47 meters (153 feet) of luxury yacht with 11 cabins taking 22 guests.  She will carry divers to all the traditional exciting scuba sites in the Palau waters.

A word from Dom :  “The sleek new Black Pearl, which is more a private luxury yacht than a traditional dive liveaboard, should be an exciting option for diving Palau’s marine magic.  She’s now being managed by our friends at Explorer Ventures who do a great job in all their other destinations … and, we expect this to be comparable.  As always, don’t hesitate to contact me if you’re looking for advice about the mix of boats in this region.” ….. Dominick Macan

Black Pearl will offer trips all year round including new moon and full moon spawning trips. {slider Highlights of the trips ..….. open|dest|closed} The final itinerary is, of course, always dependent upon weather, sea conditions and where the best animal sightings are at any particular time of year

Itinerary highlights

Blue corner
Blue Corner is known for its steep walls and abundant fish life.  Interesting geologic formations, thrilling drift dives and great pelagic action top the experience.   Add in swirling shoals of snappers, jacks & triggerfish which are always present.

Blue Hole
Drop into a deep cavern by way of several holes to find walls covered with sponges, crustaceans, black corals and reef fish.  After exploring the sumptuous beauty of the cavern, you can drift dive your way out through a “window” and find yourself at Blue Corner.

German Channel
The channel is a remnant of WWII.  The Germans dredged it to facilitate transport and now, the currents going through are ideal for  manta rays & sharks, including hammerheads.  Nearby shallow reefs offer some super macro critter opportunities.

Peleliu Express
This stunning dive site is both deep and challenging … and reserved for experienced divers due to the current. You’ll find canyons, crevices and caves that cut into the wall covered with corals and sponges.  Expect colorful butterflyfish, angel fish, turtles, sharks and dolphins.

Ulong Channel
Yet another thrilling drift dive carries divers past coral heads and coral formations dotting the sandy bottom of the channel.  Look for resident grey reef sharks, stingrays, snappers, barracuda and other pelagics … but, also great macro life.

Siaes Tunnel
This large, naturally-lit tunnel offers black corals, soft corals and invertebrates on the walls and ceilings.  White tip reef sharks and stingrays like hanging out on the cavern’s sandy bottom. Currents can be very strong.

The special spawning itinerary at full moon will give divers an opportunity to catch the spawning aggregations of the red snapper … while the new moon period involves bumphead parrotfish. {/sliders}
