The Sea of Cortez is a unique & different destination with its own charm. After being overfished and nearly ruined for posterity, this wonderful sea has made a comeback. Whale sharks are resident seasonally off La Paz; the sea lions at Los Islotes were never impacted; the humpback whales still show up every winter; the huge schools of panamic fish are as abundant as ever before. Hammerheads have returned to El Bajo and Los Animas and mantas to La Reyna. Although less abundant than before, the numbers are encouraging.
