The Jean-Michel Cousteau Fiji Islands Resort, on the island of Vanua Levu, a 17-acre coconut plantation overlooking the peaceful waters of Savusavu Bay, is a perfect family vacation spot.
A warm welcome for all & especially family friendly
The resort is known for a multitude of specialties and does them all equally well. Romance, honeymoons and weddings, scuba diving, and family vacations are all offered in an eco-friendly environment.
Accommodation is provided in traditional style bures built of local timbers & thatch. Each bure features rattan furnishings, king-size bed with custom-made mattress, small sitting area with desk, wooden louvered windows, overhead fan, and private deck with garden or ocean views. To ensure a serene environment, the bures have no telephones or televisions.
The resort has access to dive sites in Savusavu Bay and into the Koro Sea: among them, Shark Alley, Hole in the Wall and Big Blue. With sites just 10 minutes away and others further afield, such as the world-class Namena reefs, the resort offers a variety of dives for novices and experts alike. The waters of the Koro Sea are known for their exceptional diversity, including a large number of identified dive sites and newer areas we’re still exploring.
The Cousteau team also believes that a great diving experience is the adventure of the unknown. Thus, guests are welcome to join exploration trips & help discover and name new sites.
