A word from Dom :  “Blue Voyager provides plenty of space and creature comforts. She’s well appointed, does lots of popular central atolls trips … and adds some extra interest with adventures to the far north atolls that few Maldives liveaboards offer.”….. Dominick Macan

RELAXING, COMFORTABLE & CONTEMPORARY

Four decks on Blue Voyager ensure that you’ll find plenty of “get-away” space for quiet moments.  Sun worshipers can chose between 3 different sun decks, while for those looking for shade, comfortable seating areas await on both the upper and main decks. There is also a viewing deck located at the front of the boat on two decks for those who like a bit of wind-in-the-face while cruising … or sipping a cold drink while the sun sets.

You’ll enjoy cool-off time in the large salon and meals in the big adjoining dining area.  There’s a bar and sky lounge as well as a Jacuzzi to relax in between dives.

M/Y Blue Voyager benefits from a separate tender, the typical Maldives diving dhoni, which allows for the best use of space on the liveaboard. The vessel is also equipped with a nitrox membrane and charging station.

A number of extras are also offered on board including cabin upgrades, equipment hire, gases and courses to help make sure you get the most out of your liveaboard cruise.

ITINERARIES

Blue Voyager concentrates on Central Atoll trips with occasional trips to the Northern & Southern Atolls.  7-day trips are generally classic central atolls trips while 10-day & 12-day trips often venture to the northern & southern regions.  {slider View the highlights of these trips and an itinerary map  ..….  open|dest|closed}  The final itinerary is, of course, always dependent upon weather, sea conditions and where the best animal sightings are at any particular time of year

ITINERARY HIGHLIGHTS

Please note: Itineraries are always subject to change depending on local regulations, weather & logistics.

Best of the Central Atolls:  a 7-night Maldives adventure which takes you to some of the highlights of the Central Atolls, including the North and South Male Atolls, Rasdhoo Atoll and more. Without venturing far from your arrival point, you find channels & caves & drop-offs and massive coral tables. You’ll have sightings of manta rays & a variety of sharks, including whale sharks & hammerheads in season. There can be some strong currents in places, which translates to nutrient-rich waters attracting the sharks & large, swirling schools of fish including the pervasive snappers & jacks, batfish, fusiliers & sail-fin tangs. Well-known for giant anemones also, this area is popular with photographers who love those colorful shots of the anemones and their little guards, the anemone fish. Macro lovers don’t despair. You’ll get opportunities along the way for some nice critter shots.

Best of the Central Atolls:   a 10-night cruise will include a combination of either the Central and Northern Atolls or the Central and Southern Atolls. You can expect to visit some of the following: North and South Male Atolls, Felidhoo Atoll, Meemu Atoll, Ari Atoll, Rasdhoo Atoll, North and South Nilandhoo Atolls, Baa Atoll and Lhaviyani Atoll. The marine life is similar to the 7-night trip but often with greater exposure to two extremes … the glorious mantas … and some super critter sites.

Best of the Northern Atolls: these 10-night trips will take in some of the finest dive areas in the remote Far North, where few liveaboards venture. On the plan are the atolls of Raa, Baa, Lhaviyani, Noonu, Shaviyani, Haa Dhaalu and Haa Alifu. You can expect sharks, caves, wrecks & more sharks: white tip & black tip reef sharks, leopard sharks . . . and for the icing-on-the-cake . . . in the right season, hammerheads. There will be lots of mantas and you’ll love the drift-dive rides, the great visibility and the surprising abundance of hard & soft corals, along with swirling schools of fusiliers & other colorful fish, plus lurking morays, lobsters and nudibranchs. There is a one-way domestic flight from Baa Atoll to Male at the end of the trip.

TRAVEL & CRUISE LOGISTICS

Most itineraries depart from Male and you will need to book your international flight to and from Male Intl (MLE) airport. Pickup time at the airport is according to your flights. Give yourself enough time to go through immigration and pick up your luggage. At the exit of the terminal a crew member will meet and escort you to the Blue Voyager.  At the end of your cruise you will be escorted back to the airport in Male for your onward travel.

For some itineraries, a short one-way domestic flight to a local airport is required. If your trip begins in the north or the south of the Maldives, we recommend booking an early arrival into Male airport. If the trip ends in either the north or the south, we recommend booking a late departure from Male.

Depending on your onward plans, you can either go directly to the airport or check into a hotel to enjoy the rest of your holiday.
