The partially covered top sun deck with lounge chairs provides down-time options & when conditions permit, this is where al-fresco dining is found. Just below,on the upper deck (bridge deck) you’ll find 3 of the large & lovely cabins as well as a comfortable salon complete with sofas, desks, computer, entertainment system … and yet another sun deck.

The elegant main lounge & formal dining area is located on the main deck. At the stern on this deck is the enormous dive deck … while the bow of the boat is designed for observation of animal migration & antics. The remaining cabins are on the lower deck. All cabins have original, undersea themed artwork.

The ship’s chefs prepare fresh & exceptional international cuisine.

Between dives or when time permits, guests are welcome use the sea kayaks, go for a swim, snorkel around the boat. On the way to or from the planned dive sites it is very common for the skiff drivers to seek out the best spots for surface experiences … to watch dolphins, mantas, whales, a promising bait-ball or just cruse up to some of the islands most beautiful attractions, which are only reachable by small skiff.

And, you’ll have a satellite telephone for international calls, a satellite connection to send and receive e-mails.

Your Cruise Logistics

Costa Rica has two international airports but we recommend that you fly to San José (SJO). Upon arrival in San Jose, take a taxi to your hotel. There are always taxis available at the airport and minivans for those of you who have a lot of gear. The night before departure, an Undersea Hunter representative will let you know your precise pickup time (generally between 8 AM and 1 PM) for transport to the dock. The drive to Puntarenas, where you will board, takes about 3 hours, including a stop on the way for a snack or lunch. The price of this meal is not included in your trip package. After boarding, the vessel will take 32-36 hours to reach Cocos Island.

Generally, there are two dives scheduled for the morning, 8 AM and 11 AM and another dive after lunch, around 2.30 PM. This schedule can vary depending on events, circumstances and opportunities that may present themselves.

At the end of your Cocos adventure, you will usually disembark the boat at 8 AM and be transferred back to a hotel in San Jose. The transfer takes approximately 2 hours.

The incredible, the fabulous, the one-of-a-kind DeepSee submersible is most frequently teamed with this vessel. See DeepSee for all the information you need about “going for a ride” into the abyss.

Rugged & Robust For Scientific Exploration

The Argo is a rock-solid open-water vessel (130 feet / 40 meters) with full global reach which was conceived to serve as platform for a deep-diving submersible.  Argo offers all the technical support required for film and research expeditions.   Extended, multi-task cruises are her specialty, but she transitions smoothly into her role of luxury dive yacht when not doing exotic film & research work.
