Theia

The 104-foot (32-meter) luxury Theia was launched in 2010. She offers 9 large cabins, normally accommodating 18 divers, but she can take up to 20 guests for charter groups.

A word from Dom: “A long history of happy, repeat divers who give us excellent reviews. I’ve worked with Theia for years and have never had a disappointment. Moderately priced with a nice variety of itineraries including central, northern and southern atolls. A good choice.” Dominick Macan

Dramatic Decor, Super Spaciousness

Lots of liveaboards claim to be spacious …. but sometimes that term is used a bit loosely. The Theia has been well-designed to ensure maximum space for her guests. The main deck hosts an immense indoor lounge with ample seating, graced by a panoramic view and a bar. You’ll find a full entertainment system here. On the sun deck you’ll find the ‘Sky Bar’ where you can relax with drink in hand before or after dinner. Meals are served in the outdoor dining area where you’ll enjoy views of the spectacular islands during your meals. You’ll find a delightful mix of international cuisine.

The super-sized cabins offer a cozy ambiance where guests can enjoy relaxing hours. The superior deluxe room is nestled in the bow of the boat giving it a distinct flavor, while the sea view suites are situated on the top deck.

The dive dhoni is well equipped for divers & photographers … and like the mother-ship has plenty of space for you and your equipment.

Travel & Cruise Logistics

Most of the trips begin and end in Male and the closest airport is Male Intl (MLE). Pickup time at the airport is according to your flights. Give yourself enough time to go through immigration and pick up your luggage. At the exit of the terminal, a crew member will meet and escort you to Theia. Enjoy a drink while attending a briefing before dinner is served. You will spend the first night at Hulhumalé marina.

At the end of your cruise the crew will arrange your transfer to the airport according to your flight schedule once you have had your breakfast on board. The Theia crew are also available to help you plan for the day if you have a late flight. Various options are available ranging from snorkeling excursions and accommodation bookings.

This schedule is altered for Deep South trips which include a domestic flight one way. Full info for these trips is available upon request.

Itineraries

Theia offers Central Atoll trips, Northern Atoll & Southern Atoll trips. 7-day trips are generally classic central atolls trips while 11-day & 14-day trips generally venture to the northern and southern atolls.

The final itinerary is, of course, always dependant upon weather, sea conditions and where the best animal sightings are at any particular time of year

Sample itinerary information

Central Route – 7 Nights
By taking the Central Route, you will discover a variety of coral gardens, drop-offs, drift dives and even a few wrecks. There are plenty of macro creatures and also larger animals such as manta rays and whale sharks.   Hulhamale, North Male, Vaavu, South & North Ari atolls

North Route – 7 Nights or 14 Nights
The North Route will take you to little-explored reefs, pelagic cleaning stations, colorful coral and anemone gardens in an exceptionally pristine ocean.
Experience the memorable interactions with a broad variety of marine life from manta rays, guitar sharks, leopard sharks, down to schools of brilliant small fish in this dream circuit. Hulhumale, Lhaviyani, Baa, North Male … plus outlying atolls for the second week

South Route – 7 Nights, 11 Nights, 14 Nights
