Coral Eye

Coral Eye

Coral Eye is a unique Boutique Resort on Bangka Island, North Sulawesi in Indonesia. In 2009, four young marine biologists decided to pursue their dreams & passions and set up a marine outpost on Bangka Island, North Sulawesi – Indonesia, right in the heart of the Coral Triangle and the rest is history. Through its development the years, this place became more than just an outpost, but an intimate dive resort home to extreme comfort, pristine diving and exquisite design.

Italian Architecture

Coral Eye is the result of Italian interior design, and it shows. Its concept as inventive and different: a large square table in the center of the space is the core element around which the project unfolds and the social life of the resort revolves around.

Seven beach view villa’s offer privacy and proximity to the white sand beach, whilst the double bedroom garden villa is the perfect escape for families or couples of close friends. The superior rooms in the main building are all unique but share the big first floor balcony of the main building. All rooms have an ensuite bathroom with hot shower, air condition, ceiling fan, high quality mattresses and cotton linen, mosquito nets on the window. Different spa treatments are available as well.

Oh and one more thing, the food in Coral Eye is mouth watering: offering a selection of home-cooked seasonal dishes, combining the exotic cuisine of Indonesia with Mediterranean recipes, that after-diving appetite will be taken care of.

Bangka Island

Situated in the northern province of Sulawesi, Bangka Island lies in the heart of the Coral Triangle, the global epicenter of marine biodiversity. With forests, mangroves, coconut plantations, pristine, white sandy beaches and rocky outcrops situated just off the northern tip of North Sulawesi, this place has everything.

With an area of 4,700 ha, Bangka hosts about 2,000 people distributed in the three main villages. The local economy is mainly based on fishing, agriculture and in recent years also on tourism. A perfect place to disconnect as there are no roads on the island, and it is possible to trek through the jungle to visit nearby fishing villages!

If you are looking for a green, calm, architectural gem with top diving, this is it.

World Class Diving

With more than 30 world-class dive sites, Bangka’s archipelago offers several different diving spots, from richly-colonized volcanic pinnacles, beautiful pristine coral reef slopes to sandy slopes, mangroves and walls. All the diving spots can be reached with 5 to 40 minutes of navigation from the resort.

The seascape encompasses several different habitats: volcanic sand, fringing reefs, pinnacles and mangroves. These support rare and all size species such as the pygmy seahorse, leaf fish, frog fish, white and black tip reef sharks, nudibranchs, and dugongs.

Diving is possible all year around, but the best time is from April to November.
