north from South Africa in what has
become known as the Sardine Run.
Visible even by satellite, these famous
sardine shoals are massive beyond
belief, stretching kilometers in every
direction. But, the experience is
not only about the sardines. This
mass migration draws predators galore,
looking for an easy, free lunch!
Birds plummet from the sky, while ocean
predators attack from below: a plethora
of whales, bronze whalers & dolphins are
all there herding the shoals of sardine
into a "bait ball".
