The Liveaboards
EAGLE RAY

The Eagle Ray is a lovely 100 foot (30 meter) modern yacht specially designed for the Maldives.  She takes a maximum of 14 passengers in 3 double & 4 twin air-conditioned, en suite, spacious cabins - all with mini bar.

There's a big dining room serving buffet-style meals, a lounge and full service bar, plus stereo, TV, VCR, DVD, internet & library.  All crew members have at least 8 to 10 years of experience.

Before dusk, the boat usually anchors near an island or sandbank where you can decide between a night dive, a visit to an uninhabited island or relaxing onboard under the starlit sky.

The
Eagle Ray has 3 different routes
which expose you to different elements of Maldives diving, all of which allow you to encounter the very best of the classic Maldives - pinnacles, channels, corals, reef fish and big animals.

The first 2 routes concentrate on different regions of Central Maldives, while the 3rd route takes you to the North atolls, particularly Baa and Raa.  All diving is

done from a 15-foot support dhoni (tender) that also stores all your diving equipment. Eagle Ray now offers Nitrox.

MALDIVES AGGRESSOR

The elegant 115-foot Maldives Aggressor features ten deluxe staterooms accommodating 20 passengers.

Six cabins have double bed plus single bunk bed accommodation, and four cabins have two single beds. All cabins are en-suite, and have porthole, individual climate control, LCD TV, and DVD/MP3 player.

There are three decks of passenger facilities: on the main deck are all passenger cabins;  on the middle deck is the dining room, lounge and bar; while on the top deck you find the partially covered sun deck with wet bar, hot tub, chaise lounges, and outdoor grill.  Sumptuous!

Meals are served buffet style, either in the open-air dining area or the air-conditioned saloon.  The menu is varied and plentiful, including American fare, barbecues, and local cuisine.

The Maldives Aggressor has a complete photo & video center and is equipped with state of the art digital photo & video equipment, and a satellite phone with email capabilities.

Guests can make up to 4 dives a day and most dives are done from the ship's 55-foot tender, known in the Maldives as a dhoni.  Of course Nitrox is available.

MANTHIRI

Manthiri, a beautiful 85-foot (25.9-meter) luxury liveaboard, is powerfully built and custom-designed for dive cruises.  The vessel's wide beam of 25 feet (7.6 meters) contributes to her exceptional stability.

Six cabins – four twins and two doubles with queen-size beds – accommodate a maximum of 12 divers. All cabins are en-suite with mini-bars, fans, plenty of storage & individual air-conditioning.

You can choose one of her two lounge areas or a partially covered large sundeck for your between-dive time. The spacious, teak-panelled main lounge has an entertainment system & comfortable seating areas while the smaller lounge is equipped with everything you need for working with your underwater photography: large camera table, computer, slide projector and both 110 and 220 volt electricity.

2 chefs are in charge of the cuisine which consists of the finest seafood, flavorful local specialties, and international fare.

Diving onboard the Manthiri is from a separate custom-built 54-foot dhoni (diving tender) with a toilet, hot water shower, rinse tank and plenty of room to store your dive gear. All tanks and compressors stay in the dhoni making the main boat more spacious. The stable and roomy boat sits close to the water making exit and entrance easy and comfortable.  Manthiri also offers Nitrox.

OCEAN DANCER

The new Ocean Dancer, 110 feet of luxury dive liveaboard, takes a maximum of 16 guests in beautiful, first-class, air-conditioned, en-suite cabins.

The large, Deluxe Staterooms have either queen bed or a double bed & single combination.  The Master Staterooms have a double bed below with single bed above. All staterooms feature porthole with sea view, plenty of space for relaxing, plus complimentary toiletries & robes.

Between dives you’ll enjoy some leisure time on the fabulous decks, in sun or shade, while sipping iced drinks and nibbling on delicious snacks, including freshly baked breads and sweets.  Meals are plentiful and good.  Hot breakfasts are cooked to order, lunch is usually a buffet, while your dinner will be served at your table and accompanied by wine, should you wish.  The wine is included in your total package.  Other alcoholic drinks are available , but not included.

The diving is done from a custom-built, 55 foot dive dhoni, a tender which accompanies the Dancer throughout the trip.  This large tender features a very spacious dive deck, sun protection, & easy entry/exit.  It has a cruising speed of 12 knots & carries all tanks, compressors, camera tables & other diving amenities, plus Nitrox.

Photographers’ & videographers’ facilities are excellent and include some video processing services.

SEA SPIRIT . . . SEA QUEEN

The Sea Queen, 24 meters in length, was built especially for diving and was refitted in 2008. There are six cabins, four with a double berth and two with upper and lower single berths. All cabins are en-suite & all have porthole, air-conditioning and fan. Guest cabins are completely separate from the working sections of the boat, for quiet and comfort.

You'll find a lovely large deck for relaxing in the sun or shade, and a comfortable saloon with entertainment system. Underwater photographers and videographers will find work tables & editing facilities.

The
Sea Queen crew is trained to accommodate changing weather & sea conditions and guests' preferences, so your itinerary is flexible. Early in the year, you're likely to find her in the Central Region or venturing north, for the best diving season in the northern atolls. Mid year, she is concentrates on the Far South, exploring the exiting & less frequented southern atolls.  Then, late July, she returns to the Central Region for Manta Ray trips through December.

The experienced dive instructors know where to take you in specific seasons, whether it is wreck diving at Lhaviyani Atoll, manta sites at North Malé Atoll or sharks in the southern atolls & you can expect 3 - 4 dives per day.

All diving is done from the 12-meter support boat with the main compressor and diving equipment. Trip lengths vary from seven to twelve nights. The
Sea Queen has Nitrox.

The MV Sea Spirit is a spacious & comfortable option in the Maldives with a high level of service for a maximum of 12 guests.

There are six large, air-conditioned cabins; two with double beds & four with double/twin bed combinations. All cabins are en-suite and all have porthole, air-conditioning and fan.  Guest cabins are completely separate from the working sections of the boat, for quiet and comfort.

The saloon is roomy & in it you'll find an "honesty bar" where you can pour your own wine, beer and spirits from the well-stocked fridge. Tea, coffee and soft drinks are available throughout the day and night.

On deck is a comfy shaded seating area & also a large sun deck.  You'll love viewing the Maldives sunsets from one of these vantage points.

Depending on conditions, you will be offered three dives per day, with night diving available.  As with the
Sea Queen, the itinerary will be set based on the season, the weather and the sea conditions.  Their routes are similar, as they are intent on taking guests to the best sites based on the diving season.

STING RAY

Constructed in 2002, the MS Stingray, at 101 feet long & 29 feet wide, is a solid wooden construction which combines Maldivian boat-building traditions with modern engineering. One of the lower-priced options in the Maldives, she offers value for money.

9 comfortable en-suite cabins (4 with double and 5 with twin beds), located in the lower deck, are equipped with air conditioning and portholes.

The comfortable saloon offers TV, video, DVD and music & books, as well as a cosy bar area.  The kitchen provides a varied mixture of fresh European and local food. Meals are served buffet style.

On the partially covered decks, you find jacuzzi & recliners for relaxing between dives.  At the stern is a comfortable access to the water and after a dip you can use the outside freshwater shower.

Sting Ray concentrates on the Central regions in the Maldives and offers three dives per day, except on arrival and departure days, with at least one night dive per week. Like most of the boats in the Maldives, she has a a dhoni which accompanies her at all times to access diving.  Nitrox is available.

ARK ROYAL - CARPE DIEM - ORION

The Ark Royal, the Carpe Diem and the Orion rank amongst our preferred liveaboards in the super luxury field which has grown popular in the Maldives in recent times.

Virtually floating resorts, these vessels provide nearly all the amenities you would find at a land resort, plus diving that only a liveaboard can offer.

If you are interested in one of these boats, it is important to talk with us about your diving preferences. On certain cruises, roughly 1/2 the guests are divers & 1/2 are not.  So, while you will experience a glorious tour of the Maldives on a top-notch luxury vessel, with some good diving along the way, these trips are not necessarily dedicated dive cruises.

It's a lovely way to go, in particular for divers with non-diving partners, or for groups which include novice or non-divers.  You get the best of both worlds - and an exquisite vacation!

If a truly dedicated dive cruise is what you're seeking, we need to know that in advance to ensure that you are on a trip with like-minded individuals.

The Ark Royal, launched in 2008, is a 115-feet luxury cruiser with 9 cabins total, including one suite with king-sized bed & its own jacuzzi.  In addition to the suite, there are 4 double cabins with queen beds & 4 twin cabins. All rooms are en-suite and equipped with the latest technologies: flat-screen TV, DVD and CD player, a private bar & refrigerator, an electronic safe & telephones - plus you can stay in touch with the rest of the world with the on-board wi-fi system.

There's a topside deck with bar service, for sun worshippers, plus 2 decks on the bow and 2 at the stern, a telescope for stargazers, plus steam bath & masseuse.

The restaurant offers indoor dining and fully-stocked drinks bar, a tastefully-decorated lounge with lots of room to relax, and an extensive library, including video and music collections.

The
Ark Royal concentrates on Central Maldives diving - North & South Male & Ari Atoll, but from time to time adds a special tour covering the southernmost atolls of the Maldives, Huvadhoo and Addu, taking you to colorful coral reefs & channels with abundant shark action.

The MV Carpe Diem is another totally new 115 foot (35 m) motor yacht put into service in 2008.  She has 3 decks plus a sundeck.

On the lower deck are 6 Standard cabins.  On the main deck are two comfortable High Standard cabins in addition to the main bar & lounge, which offers flat screen TV, DVD/MP3 player, in house sound system, sitting/dance area and a fully equipped bar, plus the activities deck & jet ski.

The upper deck hosts the Deluxe cabin & Suite, the main dining area & bar ,a reading area & library, studio with internet & business centre facilities, plus the onboard spa.  Carpe Diem offers a variety of European & International Cuisine – including Maldivian, Thai & Indian specialties. The wine menu features wines from around the world. After dinner, the area converts to a dancing floor.

On the very top deck is the 115 square meter sun deck, which is partially covered & is used for both sunning and salsa workshops.

For your diving, the Carpe Diem is accompanied by a 55 feet separate diving dhoni, with a hot water shower, toilet, 3 compressors + nitrox.  The vessel offers 7 – 14 night cruises and concentrates on North & South Male Atolls as well as Ari Atoll.  But, she also will accommodate requests from divers for alternate routes, so don’t hesitate to ask us to arrange and itinerary for you to Baa and Raa Atoll, Felidhu Atoll or even trips to the far south.

MV Orion is 130 feet of luxury capable of carrying up to 22 guests.  Launched in 2009, she offers the ultimate comforts, including a 24 hour concierge service!

She features 11 guest rooms; an Executive Suite, a Junior Suite, 6 Double Rooms with queen-sized beds, and 3 Twin Rooms. All rooms are appointed in the style of a luxury resort.

Each room has a mini-bar, room to room intercom, plasma TV, wireless internet, mini-bar, and digital safe.  The en-suite bathrooms are elegantly tiled & both suites have not only a shower, but bathtub, too – plus the Executive Suite has its own private deck and open-air jacuzzi.

On the upper deck you find the 3 twin rooms and the Executive Suite in addition to an outside bar, the main jacuzzi and a massage room & sauna.  The main deck is comprised of the reception area, the library, the kitchen & main dining area and a bar, in addition to the double cabins and the Junior Suite.

Of course, there is a sundeck with plenty of loungers and you can indulge in a massage on deck, or bask in the sun while relaxing in the jacuzzi after a sauna.

Meals on board Orion are buffet style with breakfast cooked to order, lunch and dinner with soup, salad, fruits, a choice of main courses and dessert

Orion also offers land excursions and an afternoon of fun on an uninhabited “desert island” with beach volleyball & sea kayaking & barbecue – fishing if you wish – plus cultural visits to the islands with entertainment provided by the islanders.

For diving, she concentrates on the Central region of the Maldives, North & South Male Atolls and Ari Atoll, with occasional trips to the far south.
